You can nominate a sporting great for consideration to be inducted into the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame.

Please note that nominees must have been retired from elite level sport for at least five years to be eligible for consideration.

Nominees can be considered only twice within a six year period.

Nominations are considered at least every two years by an induction panel convened for that purpose. While there are no set criteria, nominees to be inducted must have performed in sport to an outstanding degree, usually at international level.

Successful nominations are expected to be supported with as much biographical and sporting background as possible, including the loan of material that may be required for display. Photocopies of newspaper clippings, certificates etc. are acceptable for research purposes but not for display.
