Her personal honours board began at a national level with a win in the World Youth Cup in 1992; from her debut for the Silver Ferns in 1994, she played in three world championships (including the win in Jamaica in 2003) and two Commonwealth Games. She was a leader both on the court and off. Lesley was also a key part of the stunning run of success by the Southern Sting, which she captained to the 2003 and 2004 National Bank Cup titles. An indicator of her commitment to the sport was that she missed just one international series – and that was to allow her to concentrate on her final medical examinations. Return to the Inductee list
